I decided to sit sparring out on Friday night to let my back heal. I'm glad I did because even though it felt ok-ish during training, the next morning, despite not sparring, it still felt very weak enough that I had to stretch it out a lot until I could move freely.
I'm glad I went though even if it was only to do drilling. I sort of felt like I hadn't trained properly because I had skipped sparring but realize I am too hard on myself and the reason I probably get injured is because I don't know when to put on the brakes. I think it's important to know when you need to let yourself rest and allow your central nervous system to catch up and those niggling injuries to heal.
Sparring time: Zero!
