What better way to celebrate my 50th day on the mats than to meet the 2008 winner of the brown belt mundials, Makoto Ogasawara. The more I do jiu-jitsu the more I see that this sport has some really great people. We talked for a little while about him teaching in Tai-pei and that he lives with a guy who is British, the same as myself. That's cool because I haven't met a Brit who does BJJ yet. This is only my 5th month after all. My only regret was that he asked to spar with me but because my broken foot is still healing I had to refuse :(
Perhaps in the future I will get to go to Taiwan for a holiday and pop into the dojo when I get some more experience under my belt.
