On the Mat Day 314: Tsurumai Dojo

I went to Tsurumai to take K-sensei's class. There was only me and Fuji-san who I haven't seen in a while. I've started drilling different armbar and triangle setups. K-sensei showed us variations on passing half-guard and then moved to kimura.

We went 3 times with each other during sparring. The last round I asked if we could do it nogi. The other guys oblidged. I like to mix it up a bit and I think they appreciate the change.

I have a bad habit of dropping my head when I shoot in which I need to correct. It bugs the hell out of me because it means my spine is not straight and I am easy to pretzel.

Sparring time: 6 x 6 mins = 36 mins

On the health side of things. I received the results of my blood/cholesterol test. After doing Tapout XT for 3 months I had a significant decrease but it still needs work.

See figures below.

Before
LDL 166
HDL 72
Triglycerides 50

After
LDL 125.2
HDL 67.6
Triglycerides 78

I've also been back to the doctor's with my suspected ringworm. This time a skin specialist took a look and it was in fact ringworm. The cream he gave me seems to be doing the trick. I am extremely careful about washing my hands after touching the area and decided best not to bathe with my young kids. I have to say ringworm sucks donkey's balls. It is so incredibly itchy when it flares up. So much so it drives me crazy. Just one of the few things to add to the negatives of doing BJJ.
