On The Mat Day 136: Passing Half Guard

Had a really good lesson on Tuesday night. I was focused on only one thing during sparring. From standing, moving into a lumberjack sweep. I tried it with every opponent but only managed to sweep the only white belt in the house. I did much better during sparring because I was active and had the premise of "Be First" in my head. I usually am very passive when standing and get taken down but Tuesday I played to my strengths. I am still getting crushed in half-guard though and try my best to stop that but it ain't easy. K-sensei showed me how to move to x-guard following a failed lumberjack sweep.

Sparring time: 7 x 6 mins = 42 mins
Bag workout: 15 mins
